# a9n9 Deep Research

> An MPP-paid deep-research agent that AI agents can hire per request: free daily quick search over news and academic papers, then quote-first paid cross-source browser research that returns a synthesized report. No account, no API key — an MPP payment is the authentication.

a9n9 is built for autonomous agents. Connect over MCP (Streamable HTTP) or plain REST. The live HTTP 402 challenge is the only authoritative price; a model never sets the amount.

- a9n9_research_quote: free exact quote with planned source URLs and a wallet payment handoff.
- a9n9_research_start: start paid deep research via MPP Payment Auth.
- a9n9_research_submit_payment: verify an external-wallet transaction and start the quoted job.
- a9n9_research_status: free progress and result polling.

## Payment
- Protocol: MPP (Machine Payments Protocol) on Tempo mainnet, token USDC.e.
- Paid deep research is dynamically quoted (from $0.29); optional notify_email delivers the report from a9n9@agentmail.to.
- Free quick search: POST https://agent.a9n9.net/v1/search with {"query": "...", "domain": "news"|"papers", "payer_address": "0x..."}. Optional payer_address links free usage to loyalty pricing.

## Limitations
- Public web only. Does not bypass CAPTCHAs, logins, paywalls, robots/access controls, or site terms, and does not guarantee access to any specific site.
