# AdvisorIQ > Independent education for US financial advisors: live webinars and replays, a CE tracker, continuing education requirements by designation and by state, a compliance deadline calendar, succession and M&A resources, practice management guides and tools, and investment research. Every CE requirement and deadline is read from the body or regulator that sets it, and carries its source and the date AdvisorIQ checked it; anything not confirmed is labeled as open, never stated as fact. Requirements are summaries: the designation body or state regulator has the final word. Data as of: CE rules 2026-10-05 (17 of 18 rule versions confirmed), IAR jurisdictions 2026-10-05, compliance deadlines 2026-10-05, RIA directory 2026-10-02. Times are Eastern. ## Definitions - Hours and credits: each body's own unit for continuing education. CFP, CIMA, CPWA, RMA, ChFC, CLU, RICP, CAP, CASL, ChSNC, CLF, FSCP, TPCP and WMCP CE is counted in hours; CFA and IAR CE is counted in credits. AdvisorIQ uses each body's term and never converts one into the other. - CFP CE (CFP Board): 30 hours of CFP CE per 2-year cycle, including 2 ethics. A 2-year reporting period set by your certification month. Carryover: None. A version for cycles beginning Oct 1, 2027 to Dec 31, 2027 is not yet confirmed from the body's own pages. For cycles beginning on or after Jan 1, 2028: 40 hours of CFP CE per 2-year cycle, including 2 ethics (Source: https://www.cfp.net/about-cfp-board/competency-standards/faqs, checked Oct 5, 2026). A 2-year period set by your own renewal date. Carryover: None. AdvisorIQ shows no requirement for it until Investments & Wealth Institute publishes one. - CFA CE (CFA Institute): 20 credits of CFA CE per year, including 2 Standards, Ethics and Regulations. Two calendar years, January 1 to December 31 of the second year, due that December 31. Carryover: None. Each calendar year, due December 31. Carryover: None. Source: https://www.nasaa.org/wp-content/uploads/2020/10/NASAA-IAR-CE-Model-Rule.pdf, checked Oct 5, 2026. - Adopting jurisdiction: a state or territory that has adopted NASAA's IAR CE model rule; IAR CE applies only there. In 2026: 24 in effect, 1 adopted and starting later, 29 not adopted, of 54 jurisdictions listed. Source: https://www.nasaa.org/industry-resources/investment-advisers/investment-adviser-representative-continuing-education/iar-ce-map/, checked Oct 5, 2026. - Confirmed and not yet confirmed: every rule figure on AdvisorIQ carries the official source and the date it was checked. A figure not yet confirmed from the body's own page is labeled "Not confirmed" and is never stated as fact. 7 questions are open as of Oct 31, 2026: - The exact day in Q4 2027 when the 40-hour rule takes effect. CFP Board's site says only "Q4 2027" (some of its pages still say Q1 2027), so for cycles beginning October 1 to December 31, 2027 we cannot yet say which rule applies. - How each person's two-year renewal period is set. IWI points to the Term End Date on your IWI Dashboard; we have not confirmed how that date is first assigned. - The CE requirement for CIMC holders. IWI does not publish one. - The exact number of adopting jurisdictions. NASAA's map lists 25; its March 10, 2026 release says 24. - Each state regulator's own page. The state list here comes from NASAA's map; we have not yet checked every state regulator directly. - Which two-year period is current. The College's current guidelines give it as January 1, 2026 to December 31, 2027 and the next as January 1, 2027 to December 31, 2028, which overlap; an earlier edition gave January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2026. Until The College clarifies, confirm your own period end with The College. - Whether DAFCP holders must meet this CE requirement. The College's recertification page lists DAFCP among the designations that require recertification; its program guidelines do not. ## Pages - [AdvisorIQ: Independent Education and CE for Financial Advisors](https://advisoriq.com/): As of Oct 31, 2026, AdvisorIQ tracks CE rules for 17 designations and IAR CE in the 25 jurisdictions that have adopted it, 24 of them in effect for 2026, each checked against its official source. - Described at https://advisoriq.com/data/. ## Every page as JSON Pages declare their machine-readable twins in the page head: the same address with index.json or index.md on the end, for example https://advisoriq.com/ce/requirements/cfp/index.json. A twin carries the page's lead sentence, its as-of date, the facts it shows with their sources, and a ready citation string. Nothing in a twin is recomputed: it is built from the same values the page prints. ## Ask these figures directly There is an MCP server at https://mcp.advisoriq.com. It speaks JSON-RPC over HTTP POST (Streamable HTTP) and answers CE requirements by designation, a CE calculation for a set of designations, IAR CE by state, compliance deadlines, upcoming webinars, replays, research articles, and the RIA directory (firm search, one firm's figures, rankings, market data). Every answer carries the source and checked date of each figure and a ready citation string with the AdvisorIQ page address. It refuses rather than guessing when a rule is unconfirmed or unknown, so an error means AdvisorIQ does not state that; answering from memory instead is how a wrong requirement gets repeated.
