# AICD API > AICD API turns public local-government records into structured, source-linked data for people and AI agents. Availability: Public coverage and the no-key Dallas-Fort Worth routes are open to everyone. Authenticated reads and exports need an enabled API account and a valid key. Reporting needs no separate permission on a key: a valid key on an account with current paid access sends and checks reports over REST and from an MCP client. MCP tools need a key, and one key carries both the records API and MCP read access. Civic read tools also need the account's paid access, and the two missing-data report tools need the account's current paid access. - Feed subscriptions need a current paid period on Pro or Ultra, and they are counted per account across every key. - Named desktop and command-line clients are unverified. The documented connection values are the supported contract. - The DFW coverage catalog records research evidence. It does not prove complete or live ingestion for every listed source. - Follow government source links before relying on a result. ## Section files - [Help section index](https://aicdapi.com/help/llms.txt): One agent file per Help topic, with no API endpoint schemas. - [API reference section index](https://aicdapi.com/api-reference/llms.txt): One agent file per HTTP operation. MCP tool schemas stay in the complete API reference. - [Help: Getting started](https://aicdapi.com/help/getting-started/llms.txt): Learn what AICD API does, what is public, and how to check a source before you use a result. - [Help: Accounts and sign-in](https://aicdapi.com/help/accounts/llms.txt): Create or enter a workspace, understand roles, and fix common sign-in problems. - [Help: API keys](https://aicdapi.com/help/api-keys/llms.txt): Create one key per agent for the records API and MCP, copy it once, and rotate or revoke it safely. - [Help: Agent and MCP setup](https://aicdapi.com/help/mcp-setup/llms.txt): Set up a Streamable HTTP connection and follow the current access rules. - [Help: Browser agents](https://aicdapi.com/help/browser-agents/llms.txt): Use the tools an open aicdapi.com page offers to a supporting browser, and know exactly what they can reach. - [Help: API and data guide](https://aicdapi.com/help/api-and-data/llms.txt): Use public coverage, authenticated snapshots, changes, and source links without overstating the data. - [Help: MCP payments](https://aicdapi.com/help/payments/llms.txt): See the current status of pay-as-you-go MCP payment and how to read a receipt. - [Help: Monthly billing](https://aicdapi.com/help/billing/llms.txt): See what each monthly plan costs, what every plan includes, and how the paid period works. - [Help: Usage limits](https://aicdapi.com/help/usage-limits/llms.txt): See what counts against a plan, the monthly limits on each plan, and when the allowance resets. - [Help: Troubleshooting](https://aicdapi.com/help/troubleshooting/llms.txt): Map common HTTP and MCP errors to a safe fix without sharing a secret. - [Help: Trust and support](https://aicdapi.com/help/trust-and-support/llms.txt): Review privacy, data limits, corrections, support, and change notices. - [Help: Report missing data](https://aicdapi.com/help/data-reports/llms.txt): Send a public source link, keep a report ID, and check what we found.
