The MCP is public, anonymous, and read-only. It publishes approved public information through these tools:

- `get_availability`: current published opportunity preferences and their `last_updated` date
- `list_posts`: browse published writing latest first, or find relevant articles using a topic or sentence from the conversation; searches titles, summaries, and public article text, with results ranked by relevance
- `get_post`: full public article Markdown by a slug returned by `list_posts`
- `get_music_rotation`: a selection from the published past-year listening rotation
- `discover_music`: automatic archive picks, with surprise, across-decades, and newer-release modes

Posts update after website publication without a separate MCP release. Music follows the existing daily listening sync. Both use short caches and report retrieval timestamps. Music picks are not personalized recommendations or Alex's endorsements.
