# Amass Platform API > Programmatic access to Amass Cores — curated, enriched life-sciences datasets > for biomedical literature and clinical trials. REST API with Bearer auth, > designed for AI agents, integrations, and research pipelines. **Base URL:** `https://api.amass.tech/api/v1` **Auth:** send `Authorization: Bearer amass_` on every request. **Rate limit:** 60 requests / 60 seconds per (user, organization). On `429`, respect `Retry-After` and back off exponentially. **Pagination:** none. Each search returns up to **300** results via `limit`. Narrow with filters instead of paging. **Response shape:** `{ "data": ... }` on success. `{ "error": { "status", "code", "message" } }` on error. **Amass IDs:** `AMBC_*` for BiomedCore records, `AMTC_*` for TrialCore records, `AMRC_*` for RegulatoryCore records, `AMDC_*` for DrugCore records, `AMGC_*` for GeneCore records, `AMPC_*` for PatentCore records — canonical identifiers for every record. ## Quick start - [Introduction](https://api.amass.tech/api/doc): Base URL, auth, errors, rate limits, pagination. Self-contained. ## Cores (data products) - [BiomedCore](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/cores/biomedcore): 43M+ biomedical citations from PubMed and PMC with citation counts, journal-quality tiers, MeSH terms, full text, retraction status, plus conference abstracts from society meetings (marked `Conference` in `publicationTypes`). Updated daily. Lookup by PMID or DOI. - [TrialCore](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/cores/trialcore): 1.2M+ clinical trial records from ClinicalTrials.gov and the WHO ICTRP (non-US registries such as EUCTR, ChiCTR, and JPRN). Protocols, eligibility, endpoints, sponsors, recruitment status, posted results. Each record carries source-registry provenance (registryId, sourceRegistry, sourceUrl). Updated daily. Lookup by NCT ID or registry ID. - [RegulatoryCore](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/cores/regulatorycore): Cross-agency drug regulatory authorizations from the FDA (US) and EMA (EU), normalized onto a shared schema — unified authorization status, procedure type, and regulatory designations on common comparison axes. Updated weekly. Carries cross-market links (`authorizationsByAgency`). Lookup by FDA application number, EMA product number, NDC, or SPL Set ID. - [DrugCore](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/cores/drugcore): 22K+ harmonized drug and molecule records from ChEMBL. Names, trade names, synonyms, modality, clinical stage, and chemical structure (InChIKey, SMILES). Cross-linked to trials (TrialCore), literature (BiomedCore), and regulatory authorizations (RegulatoryCore). Lookup by ChEMBL ID. - [GeneCore](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/cores/genecore): 43K+ harmonized gene records from HGNC, enriched with NCBI Gene, UniProt, and Ensembl. Approved symbols, names, synonyms, gene type (biotype), RefSeq functional summary, genomic location, external IDs (Ensembl, Entrez, UniProt, MANE, OMIM, Orphanet, IUPHAR), and target intelligence (tractability, target class, safety liabilities, gnomAD constraint, CRISPR essentiality). Cross-linked to drugs (DrugCore). Lookup by gene identifiers. - [PatentCore](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/cores/patentcore) *(preview)*: Patent publications served from the Amass index. Bibliographic metadata (publication/application numbers, jurisdiction, kind code, family id), English-preferred full text (title, abstract, claims, description), CPC/IPC classifications, inventors/assignees, key dates, and citation lineage. Full-text search with structured filters. Cross-linked to drugs (DrugCore). Lookup by publication number, application number and family id. Schema may change while in preview. ## Endpoint pattern Every Core exposes the same three endpoints under `/v1/cores/{core}/`: - `GET /records?query=...` — full-text search with filters. Up to 300 results per call. - `GET /records/{amassId}` — fetch a single record. Use `?include=...` to expand optional fields like `fulltext`, `authorsMetadata`, `outcomes`, `referencesBiomedCore`. - `POST /records/lookup` — convert external IDs (PMID, DOI, NCT) to Amass IDs in batch. Each item must carry exactly one identifier. TrialCore, BiomedCore, RegulatoryCore, GeneCore and DrugCore additionally expose `GET /v1/cores/{core}/changes`, a cursor-paged feed of records created, updated, or removed at the source, for keeping a local copy and watchlists in sync. All five share one contract. ## Use cases - [Map the clinical landscape](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#map-clinical-landscape): Competitive overview of active and completed trials in a therapeutic area. - [Track competitor pipeline](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#track-competitor-pipeline): Monitor trial starts, completions, and results by sponsor. - [Assess the evidence behind a target](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#gauge-scientific-maturity): Gauge scientific maturity of a drug target via publication and trial evidence. - [Connect trials to evidence](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#connect-trials-to-evidence): Cross-link trial protocols to their underlying publications. - [Automate literature reviews](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#automate-literature-reviews): Generate structured evidence tables from a search query. - [Benchmark your protocol](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#benchmark-protocol): Compare trial design against completed precedent trials. - [Find investigators and sites](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#find-investigators-and-sites): Discover PIs and trial sites by geography, therapeutic area, or trial history. - [Learn from stopped trials](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#learn-from-stopped-trials): Find failed and terminated trials in your space with reasons. - [Track posted trial results](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#track-trial-results): Monitor when competitor trials post results. - [Spot repurposing signals](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#spot-repurposing-signals): Surface off-label and repurposing opportunities from the literature. - [Build meta-analysis datasets](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#build-meta-analysis-datasets): Extract structured outcome data for quantitative synthesis. - [Map public funding flows](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#map-public-funding): Track public funding across trials and publications. - [Prioritize targets by constraint and essentiality](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#prioritize-targets-by-constraint): Prioritize genes using gnomAD genetic constraint (LOEUF) and CRISPR essentiality screens. - [Link target genes to clinical pharmacology](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#link-targets-to-pharmacology): Map biological drug targets directly to active compound programs and structures using cross-core links. - [Compare US and EU approvals](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#compare-us-and-eu-approvals): Read cross-market authorization status divergence for a drug across the FDA and EMA. - [Track regulatory designations](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#track-regulatory-designations): Surface accelerated, breakthrough, PRIME, and conditional authorizations on shared comparison axes. - [Map orphan drug approvals](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/examples/use-cases#map-orphan-drug-approvals): Scope a rare-disease landscape with the cross-agency orphan filter. ## Pricing & support - [Pricing](https://platform.amass.tech/documentation/getting-started/pricing) - Email: support@amass.tech ## Optional - [App (complementary user-facing product)](https://app.amass.tech/): Interactive research UI built on the same Cores.
