# AyHire > Hire developers by what they shipped. AyHire reads public GitHub work (repos, READMEs, commit history and public activity), scores their public work on four general counts with the evidence attached, and tells you who is open to work. People use the website; agents use the MCP server, the Claude Code plugin or the HTTP API. AyHire finds engineers by reading their public GitHub work, and tells you who to talk to first and why, with a link behind every claim. Use it to find the people behind open-source projects, to score a developer with the evidence for each score, or to check whether someone is open to work. ## Docs - [Overview](https://ayhire.com/index.md): what AyHire does, the four scores, availability checks, what it reads - [Set up AyHire](https://ayhire.com/setup.md): steps an agent follows to install, sign in and connect itself - [For agents](https://ayhire.com/agents.md): MCP server, Claude Code plugin, command line, HTTP API and every tool - [The website](https://ayhire.com/app.md): roles, AyHire's call on each person, the shortlist, limits - [Free GitHub profile check](https://ayhire.com/engineer.md): any developer's public GitHub read as four scores with the links behind them, no account needed - [Pricing](https://ayhire.com/pricing.md): the plans, prices, free trial, monthly allowances and how billing works - [Guides](https://ayhire.com/guides.md): how to get good results, such as writing a role's criteria, each in full - [Blog](https://ayhire.com/blog.md): how AyHire works and why, each post in full - [Alternatives](https://ayhire.com/alternatives.md): alternatives to other sourcing tools, and how AyHire compares, each page in full ## Guides, posts and alternatives, one file each - [Write hiring criteria that find the right people](https://ayhire.com/guides/writing-criteria.md): How to write hiring criteria AyHire can judge from public work: where to edit them, how much each matters, what to leave out, and weak ones made better. - [Firecrawl Directory vs AyHire for hiring engineers](https://ayhire.com/blog/firecrawl-directory.md): Firecrawl Directory puts 240M+ profiles in ChatGPT and Claude.
