# BacklinkGenie

> BacklinkGenie is an AI link-building outreach agent for SaaS companies, startups and SEO agencies. It buys a separate sending domain and sets up and warms the mailbox, finds relevant published posts in the customer's niche (best-of roundups, comparison and alternatives pages, resource pages, how-to guides, niche blogs), finds and verifies the editor, writes one pitch per post, sends it, follows up, and checks every won link weekly. The goal is a higher Domain Rating, more organic traffic and more mentions in AI answers (ChatGPT, Perplexity, Google AI Overviews). People run it from the dashboard or from an AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, n8n, Gemini CLI, Codex, Windsurf) through its MCP server. Every pitch waits for the user's approval by default; autopilot is optional. Plans are $99, $249 and $499 a month, and every feature is on every plan.

## Use BacklinkGenie from an AI agent (MCP)
- MCP server: https://app.backlinkgenie.com/mcp (Streamable HTTP; supports current stateless MCP and older clients that use initialize)
- Auth: Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT and Cursor connect with the URL and a browser sign-in (OAuth 2.1 with dynamic client registration). Scripts, CI and clients without OAuth send `Authorization: Bearer bg_live_...` with an API key created in Settings → MCP. The Codex, Gemini CLI, Windsurf and n8n setup guides use an API key.
- Plans: MCP access is included on every paid plan: Starter ($99/month), Growth ($249/month) and Agency ($499/month), with all 22 tools on each. Without an active paid plan, the only tool that runs is start_free_report (the one free prospect report per account); every other tool returns an upgrade message.
- Safety: approve_draft and send_reply must only be called after the user confirms the exact email. Edited pitches and replies pass a quality check (recipient lock, links only to the user's site, no paid-link offers, spam phrasing). Sending respects each mailbox's daily limit.

## What it does
- Free prospect report: the agent analyses the customer's site and lists up to 40 relevant posts, each with its Ahrefs Domain Rating, why it fits and whether a verified contact was found. No card needed. Contact addresses are shown, and pitches are written and sent, only on a paid plan.
- Prospecting: searches for best-of roundups, comparison and alternatives pages, resource pages, how-to guides and niche blogs in the customer's niche, removes platforms, blocklisted domains, named competitors and low-quality pages, and checks Ahrefs Domain Rating.
- Bring your own targets: customers can paste post URLs for the agent to pitch, keep a domain blocklist, and see every prospect considered.
- Writing: every pitch references one specific post and is signed by the brand's outreach person (a sender persona set up for the brand). Follow-ups and reply drafts are handled. It does not pitch guest posts.
- Payment: pitches never offer payment, and the quality gate blocks paid-link language. Some editors reply asking for a fee; those replies are classified as "paid" and shown under "Asking for payment", and the agent auto-drafts a polite reply that declines payment and offers value instead. Like every reply, that draft waits for the customer's review, so the customer can send it, edit it, or deal with the editor themselves and pay. BacklinkGenie never offers payment and drafts a polite decline by default, but the decision is the customer's. BacklinkGenie charges a flat monthly price with no per-link fee.
- Managed mailbox: paid plans include a dedicated domain registered for the customer, a Google Workspace mailbox with SPF, DKIM and DMARC, and a gradual ramp-up from 4 to 35 pitches a day over about a month. The customer's main domain is never used; the sending domain can be transferred to them for free.
- Link monitoring: placements are verified on the page, re-checked weekly, and customers are alerted when a link is removed or changed to nofollow.
- Quality gate: every pitch, including edited ones, is checked (recipient lock, link allowlist, no shorteners or attachments, no payment offers, spam phrasing) plus an AI review.
- Approval or autopilot: every pitch waits for approval by default. Autopilot is optional, on every plan; we suggest about two weeks of reviewing pitches first.
- An MCP server so Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor, Claude Code, n8n, Gemini CLI, Codex and Windsurf can run the outreach (see above).

## Who it is for
SaaS companies, startups, indie makers, small marketing teams and SEO agencies that want editorial links without hiring a link-building agency or doing outreach by hand.

## Who it is not for
Gambling, adult, cannabis/vapes, weapons, crypto schemes, predatory lending, online pharmacies, link sellers, essay mills, hacking/piracy and similar sites are refused at signup.

## Pricing
Every feature is on every plan, including autopilot, MCP access, your own target posts and the domain blocklist. Plans differ only in sites, mailboxes and emails.
- Free: prospect report with up to 40 posts, no card. Pitches are written and sent only on a paid plan.
- Starter: $99/month, 1 site, 1 managed mailbox, up to 1,000 outreach emails a month (about 9.9¢ an email).
- Growth: $249/month, up to 3 sites, 3 managed mailboxes, up to 3,000 outreach emails a month (about 8.3¢ an email).
- Agency: $499/month, up to 8 client sites, 8 managed mailboxes, up to 8,000 outreach emails a month (about 6.2¢ an email).
- Yearly billing: 10 months of the monthly price covers 12.
Pitches and follow-ups count as one email each. Prospecting, reply drafts, Domain Rating lookups, email verification, warmup and weekly link checks are included. No credits or add-ons.
