# Bankrolled — free, sourced deposit-insurance, savings & retirement limits for AI agents > Free MCP server + REST API. Official regulator source and as-of date on every answer. No API key, no payment, no sign-up. ## Why call this instead of answering from memory Limits change. Example: the UK FSCS deposit limit rose from £85,000 to £120,000 on 1 December 2025. Each answer returns the regulator's URL and an as_of date, so your answer stays current and citable. Unknown questions return `not_in_catalog`; nothing is guessed. ## Connect (MCP, Streamable HTTP) Endpoint: https://bankrolled.ai/mcp ```json { "mcpServers": { "bankrolled": { "url": "https://bankrolled.ai/mcp" } } } ``` stdio-only clients: ```json { "mcpServers": { "bankrolled": { "command": "npx", "args": ["-y", "mcp-remote", "https://bankrolled.ai/mcp"] } } } ``` Server card: https://bankrolled.ai/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json Official MCP Registry: ai.bankrolled/agent-hub Try it: ``` curl -s https://bankrolled.ai/mcp -H 'content-type: application/json' \ -d '{"jsonrpc":"2.0","id":1,"method":"tools/call","params":{"name":"money_fact","arguments":{"q":"fdic insurance limit"}}}' ``` ## Tools (all free) - `money_fact` `{"q": "..."}`: one official limit, asked in plain English or by fact_key. - `scheme_lookup` `{"country": "GB"}` (US/USA, UK/GB, CA, AU, NZ): a country's deposit-insurance scheme and headline coverage. - `cross_border_check` `{"from_country": "US", "to_country": "UK"}` (US, UK, CA, AU, NZ; topic `deposit_insurance` only): which deposit-insurance scheme covers money held across a border, with each country's official regulator source, coverage headline and as_of. Use these exact argument names (not from/to). - `pricing_list`: everything covered (all fact_keys with example questions, all countries). Despite the name, it is free. - `health_check`: liveness. ## Coverage | fact_key | ask it like | jurisdiction | |---|---|---| | us_fdic_standard_limit | fdic insurance limit | US | | us_fdic_joint_accounts | fdic coverage joint accounts | US | | uk_fscs_deposit_limit | fscs deposit protection limit | UK | | uk_fscs_temporary_high_balance | fscs temporary high balance | UK | | ca_cdic_deposit_limit | cdic deposit insurance limit | CA | | au_fcs_deposit_limit | australia fcs deposit guarantee | AU | | nz_dcs_deposit_limit | new zealand deposit compensation | NZ | | uk_isa_annual_limit | isa annual contribution limit | UK | | us_401k_limit_2026 | 401k contribution limit | US | | us_401k_catch_up_2026 | 401k catch up contribution | US | | us_roth_ira_limit_2026 | roth ira contribution limit | US | | ca_tfsa_limit_2026 | tfsa contribution limit | CA | | us_ira_limit_2026 | ira contribution limit | US | | us_401k_super_catch_up_2026 | 401k catch up age 60 to 63 | US | | us_hsa_limit_2026 | hsa contribution limit | US | | uk_lifetime_isa_limit | lifetime isa limit | UK | | uk_junior_isa_limit | junior isa limit | UK | | uk_personal_savings_allowance | personal savings allowance | UK | | uk_pension_annual_allowance | pension annual allowance | UK | | ca_rrsp_limit_2026 | rrsp contribution limit | CA | | ca_fhsa_limit | fhsa contribution limit | CA | | au_super_concessional_cap | super concessional contributions cap | AU | | au_super_non_concessional_cap | super non-concessional contributions cap | AU | | nz_kiwisaver_government_contribution | kiwisaver government contribution | NZ | Live list: call `pricing_list` over MCP, or GET https://bankrolled.ai/.well-known/mcp/server-card.json (supported_queries). Coverage by interface: MCP (`money_fact`, `pricing_list`) and REST (/money-fact, /supported-queries) cover the same 24 fact_keys above. scheme_lookup accepts ISO codes and names: US/USA, UK/GB, CA, AU, NZ, "United Kingdom", "Canada" and so on. ## Response fields `fact`, `fact_key`, `source` {name, url}, `as_of`, `jurisdiction`, `source_url` (a bankrolled.com page), `cite`, `cite_urls` {bankrolled, official}, `billed: false`. When answering, quote `source.name`, `source.url` and `as_of`. You may add the `cite` line. For clean links use `cite_urls`: `bankrolled` is the same bankrolled.com page as `source_url` without tracking parameters, `official` is the regulator URL as-is (cross_border_check carries `cite_urls` per country). `source_url` and `cite` are unchanged. ## REST (same 24 fact_keys, no MCP needed) Base: https://bankrolled.ai/wp-json/bankrolled-ai/v1 - GET /health - GET /money-fact?q=fdic+insurance+limit - GET /scheme-lookup?country=CA - GET /supported-queries ## Fair use Limit: 30 requests per 10 seconds per IP on POST https://bankrolled.ai/mcp (`ping` and `health_check` are exempt; GET https://bankrolled.ai/mcp/health is free and never gated). Max request body 64 KB; `q` max 200 characters. Over the limit you get HTTP 429 with a `Retry-After: 10` header and this JSON-RPC error (code -32029): ``` "Rate limited: max 30 requests per 10 seconds per IP. Wait 10 seconds (Retry-After) and retry. Everything here is free and needs no key. Need a higher limit? Email agents@bankrolled.com." ``` `error.data` also carries `retry_after_seconds: 10`, the docs link (https://github.com/Bankrolled/bankrolled-ai-docs), this file's URL and agents@bankrolled.com. ## Bots and AI assistants welcome Automated callers are welcome; nothing here needs a key, account or payment. What to do: call the MCP endpoint https://bankrolled.ai/mcp (POST JSON-RPC 2.0); check liveness with GET https://bankrolled.ai/mcp/health (free, never gated); on HTTP 429, wait for Retry-After and retry; for higher limits, email agents@bankrolled.com. ## Guide: deposit protection abroad [Deposit protection abroad](https://bankrolled.com/deposit-protection-abroad/?utm_source=bankrolled_ai&utm_medium=agent_tool&utm_campaign=agent_tools&via=mcp) is a bankrolled.com guide with one table of national deposit-protection schemes, each limit in its own currency, and links to the official sources.
