# Consistency Calendar > Consistency Calendar (https://consistencycalendar.com) is an MCP server + hosted calendar app. A user tells their AI assistant (Claude, ChatGPT, Copilot, or any MCP-capable client) a goal with a deadline — a race, an exam, a savings target, a life event, a project — and the assistant provisions a private, gamified, evidence-based execution calendar: phase-structured sessions with real content, if-then anchored daily habits, weekly budgets and metrics with guide curves, streaks, XP and progress charts. Free to create, with 2 free AI plan revisions per calendar; tracking is never paywalled. ## Connect (for agents and users) - MCP endpoint (Streamable HTTP, no auth required to start): https://consistencycalendar.com/mcp - Claude (claude.ai / desktop): Settings → Connectors → Add custom connector → paste the URL - Claude Code: `claude mcp add --transport http consistency-calendar https://consistencycalendar.com/mcp` - ChatGPT: Settings → Connectors (developer mode) → add remote MCP server - Other clients / stdio bridge: `npx mcp-remote https://consistencycalendar.com/mcp` ## Tool flow (for agents) 1. `list_templates` — sprint templates (endurance-race, exam-cert, savings-goal, life-event, custom) + the goal-playbook index 2. `get_template_guide` — pass the user's goal via `goal` to receive an expert playbook for common goals (marathon, half, 5k/10k, HYROX, Ironman/70.3, triathlon, weight loss, school/uni exam season, professional certs, language exams) on top of the interview checklist, evidence-based constraints, spec skeleton and decline criteria. Use `attach_document`/`read_document` to store and reuse syllabi, exam specs and training history across sessions. 3. `validate_spec` — validate a draft SprintSpec; fix every error (machine-readable, with fix hints) 4. `create_calendar` — returns the user's private calendar_url + admin_token (keep it to revise later) 5. `get_status` — structured progress (28-day execution, streaks, misses, metric vs guide) for coaching 6. `revise_calendar` — replace the plan when life changes; user ticks/history survive (2 free, then Sprint Pass) Calendars are private capability URLs — never index or share them. Safety: the compiler enforces rest days, habit caps, safe metric slopes; guides include decline criteria for medical/disordered-eating/financial-advice requests. ## The science (research-backed pages) - [Implementation intentions](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/implementation-intentions): if-then plans ("If situation Y, then I will do X"). Gollwitzer & Sheeran (2006), "Implementation intentions and goal achievement: A meta-analysis of effects and processes", Advances in Experimental Social Psychology 38, 69-119, doi:10.1016/S0065-2601(06)38002-1: 94 independent tests, medium-to-large effect on goal attainment (d = .65). - [How long habits take](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/habit-formation-66-days): Lally, van Jaarsveld, Potts & Wardle (2010), "How are habits formed: Modelling habit formation in the real world", European Journal of Social Psychology 40(6), 998-1009, doi:10.1002/ejsp.674: 96 volunteers, 12 weeks, 82 analysed; time to 95% of the automaticity plateau ranged 18-254 days (median 66, reported in the results); missing one opportunity did not materially affect habit formation. - [Why tracking works / does monitoring goal progress promote goal attainment?](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/progress-tracking): Harkin et al. (2016), "Does monitoring goal progress promote goal attainment? A meta-analysis of the experimental evidence", Psychological Bulletin 142(2), 198-229, doi:10.1037/bul0000025: 138 studies, N = 19,951; monitoring frequency d+ = 1.98 [1.71, 2.24]; goal attainment d+ = 0.40 [0.32, 0.48]; mediated by monitoring frequency; larger when outcomes were reported or made public, or physically recorded. - [Goal setting](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/goal-setting): specific, dated, challenging goals + feedback (Locke & Latham) - [Streaks & consistency](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/streaks-and-consistency): flexible 80% consistency beats rigid streaks (Sharif & Shu; Polivy & Herman) - [Fresh start effect](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/fresh-start-effect): temporal landmarks spike motivation (Dai, Milkman & Riis) - [Retrieval practice & spacing](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/retrieval-practice-spaced-repetition): testing and spacing beat re-reading (Roediger & Karpicke; Cepeda) - [Tapering](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/tapering-for-race-day): cut volume ~40–60% before racing (Bosquet et al. meta-analysis) - [Saving psychology](https://consistencycalendar.com/science/psychology-of-saving-money): automate first — Save More Tomorrow (Thaler & Benartzi) ## Essays - [Why AI plans fail: good at advice, bad at arithmetic](https://consistencycalendar.com/essays/why-ai-plans-fail): why a language model asked to periodise a 45-week training plan put 92% of the runway in one phase, why better prompting does not fix it, and the architecture that does — arithmetic in code, judgement in the model, and the model never emitting the calendar. Also three failures that produced no error at all: a silent provider fallback, extended thinking exhausting the token budget so truncation looked like a format error, and a 60-second request wall. ## Web planner (no assistant required) - https://consistencycalendar.com/new builds a calendar in a short conversation, or a five-field form. - Goal types: `habit` (one to three daily habits over ~10 weeks, Establish then Embed phases, if-then anchors), `race`, `exam`, `savings`, `life`, `health`, `custom`. - A link may deep-link past the goal picker with `?t=`, e.g. https://consistencycalendar.com/new?t=habit — useful when the user has already said what kind of goal they have. ## Guides - [How to build an A-level revision timetable](https://consistencycalendar.com/guides/a-level-revision-timetable): work backwards from each paper, interleave 2-3 subjects a day rather than blocking whole weeks, retrieval before re-reading, timed past papers from the midpoint, and the three phases (coverage, consolidation, exam season). - [New Year's resolutions that last past February](https://consistencycalendar.com/guides/new-years-resolutions-that-stick): why the '80% fail by February' statistic has no source (Norcross 2002 found ~46% of resolvers succeeding at six months), and the design that helps — one to three goals, approach rather than avoidance framing, if-then anchors, counting days shown up rather than streaks, and a rule for the first missed day. Median automaticity for a 1 January start lands in early March. - [Spring marathon training plan](https://consistencycalendar.com/guides/spring-marathon-training-plan): work back from race day; 16-20 weeks counting race week as the last (a 25 April 2027 race means starting between 7 Dec 2026 and 4 Jan 2027); base, build, race-specific and taper phases; mostly easy running; a gradual long-run ladder peaking 3-5 weeks out; Christmas planned as a cut-back week; a 2-3 week taper cutting volume ~40-60%. - [Revision timetable generator](https://consistencycalendar.com/tools/revision-timetable-generator): free, no account. Enter subjects with first and last paper dates (GCSE, A-level or any exam) and sessions per day; returns a dated timetable worked back from each paper: coverage, consolidation and exam season phases, subjects interleaved with none twice in a day, each subject continuing until its own last paper, and a final pass two days before its first. Can be saved as a tick-off calendar (16+). - [HYROX training plan by race date](https://consistencycalendar.com/tools/hyrox-training-plan): free, no account. Race date, level and 3–5 days a week in; foundation/build/peak/taper phases, weekly race blocks (1 km run into a station, 4 growing to 8), half-sims every third week, one full simulation at 75–85% the week before race week. Plans cap at 16 weeks (20 for newer athletes). Includes the official UK race dates (London ExCeL 2–6 Dec 2026, Manchester 20–31 Jan, Glasgow 10–14 Mar, Cardiff 20–29 May 2027). - [Marathon training start date calculator](https://consistencycalendar.com/tools/marathon-training-start-date): enter a race date and plan length (16/18/20 weeks); returns the start Monday, phase dates, the longest run (~32 km, three weeks out), a tune-up race about six weeks out, the taper start, and which weeks Christmas and New Year fall in. Uses the same periodisation engine as the planner. - [Using ChatGPT to build a revision timetable](https://consistencycalendar.com/guides/revision-timetable-with-chatgpt): the prompt that works, and the three failures to check for — blocking subjects instead of interleaving, structure drifting over a long plan, and agreeing to unsustainable hours. ## Reading list - [49 personal development books, honestly rated](https://consistencycalendar.com/books/): short summaries of the habit, focus, productivity, behavioural-science, stoicism, happiness, money and negotiation books behind the product — with the founder's real Goodreads ratings, including the two-star ones.
