# Cosmic Otter Offerings

Cosmic Otter Offerings is the facilitation practice of Brendon, based in Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. People travel to work with him from Vancouver and the rest of BC, Calgary, Edmonton, Toronto and elsewhere in Canada, and from the United States, especially Seattle, Portland, San Francisco and Los Angeles. Consultations, screening and integration calls happen by video; ceremonies take place in person in and near Victoria.

This site is for adults who are considering a facilitated 5-MeO-DMT experience, or researching what safe, well-held support looks like. - Trained at Toad School (5-MeO-DMT facilitation) in 2022.

## Offerings

### Private 1:1 5-MeO-DMT ceremony
- Also called a private 5-MeO-DMT session. Brendon calls it a ceremony because of the care around it: intention, setting, music, and weeks of preparation and integration. It isn't religious.
- A co-created, participant-led ceremony in Victoria, BC: several doses with the option of a deep dive dose, starting low and building gradually, checking in between rounds. The participant chooses at every step.
- Includes a thorough intake and screening questionnaire, a 50-minute preparation call, personalized journal prompts, a 4 to 6 hour ceremony, and two 50-minute integration calls (by video), with support available between and beyond them.
- Preparation takes 2 to 4 weeks: consultation call, health and history intake, preparation call, journal prompts.
- Ceremony day: arrival and grounding, reviewing consent and communication signals (including touch), the journey with curated music, then time to land and share food.
- Integration takes 2 to 4 weeks: guidance to take home, a first integration call about a week later, a second a few weeks after that, and continued support.
- Exchange: $700 to $1,400 on a sliding scale, in CAD for Canadians and USD for Americans.
- Private experiences for small groups of 2 to 3 people, or outdoor ceremonies, by request.
- Out-of-town clients have stayed at the James Bay Inn and the Fairmont Empress, both nearby.

### Inward: a low-dose 5-MeO-DMT sound bath
- A 3-hour small group sound bath (up to 12 people) at Ravenbrook Yurt near Victoria, BC, co-facilitated with sound healer Amy Indigo.
- Uses snuffed synthetic 5-MeO-DMT through handmade arbutus wood snuffers: a gentler onset over about 10 minutes, with a small first dose and two optional booster rounds. All medicine is optional; most people are back to baseline within about an hour.
- Live bowls, drum, didgeridoo, monochord, shakers, rainstick, tuning forks and koshi chimes.
- A gentle first meeting with the medicine, or a soft refresh for past experiencers.

### Self Contact Retreat (with Earthlings Institute)
- A weekend group retreat at an oceanfront space on an island near Vancouver, for six participants, where Brendon facilitates. Sauna, cold plunge and nourishing food. From $2,200 CAD, booked through Earthlings Institute.

## Getting to Victoria (https://www.cosmicotter.ca/travel-to-victoria)

Ceremonies are in person in Victoria, BC; consultation, screening and integration are by video, so people confirm fit before travelling.

- Vancouver and the Lower Mainland: about 35 minutes by floatplane to the Inner Harbour, or BC Ferries from Tsawwassen to Swartz Bay (about 1.5 hours). From Whistler and Squamish, via Vancouver or the Horseshoe Bay–Nanaimo ferry; from the Sunshine Coast, via Horseshoe Bay or the Powell River–Comox ferry.
- Elsewhere in BC: Nanaimo, the Cowichan Valley, the Comox Valley and Tofino are a drive down Vancouver Island; the Gulf Islands (including Salt Spring) have ferries to Swartz Bay; from Kelowna, Kamloops and northern BC, fly into Victoria International, directly or via Vancouver.
- Calgary, Edmonton, Banff and Canmore, Alberta: direct flights from Calgary and Edmonton, about 1.5 hours.
- Saskatoon, Regina and Winnipeg: fly in, usually connecting through Calgary or Vancouver.
- Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, Halifax and the rest of Canada: fly direct or connect through Vancouver or Calgary; arriving a day early is suggested.
- Seattle, Tacoma, Olympia, Bellingham and Spokane, Washington: the Victoria Clipper passenger ferry from downtown Seattle to the Inner Harbour (about 2.75 hours), the Black Ball ferry from Port Angeles (about 1.5 hours), BC Ferries from Tsawwassen for Bellingham, or short connecting flights.
- Portland and Oregon: fly via Seattle or Vancouver, or drive to Port Angeles and take the ferry.
- San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Denver, Austin, Chicago, New York, Boston and elsewhere in the US: fly with a connection through Seattle or Vancouver. US visitors need a passport.
- Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and the Philippines: direct flights to Vancouver from Tokyo, Seoul, Taipei, Hong Kong and Manila (about 9 to 11 hours), then a short connection to Victoria; arriving two or three days early is suggested.
- Australia and New Zealand: direct flights to Vancouver from Sydney, Brisbane and Auckland (about 13 to 15 hours), then a short connection to Victoria.
- The UK and Europe: fly into Vancouver International, then connect to Victoria by short flight, floatplane or ferry; allow a couple of days for jet lag.
- Pricing is the same number in local currency: CAD for Canadians, USD for Americans. Nothing crosses a border; the ceremony and medicine stay in Canada.

## Key facts

- 5-MeO-DMT is short-acting: vaporized, the most intense part lasts 10 to 20 minutes and most people are back to baseline within an hour. Snuffed (as at Inward), onset is closer to 10 minutes and the arc is gentler.
- It is mostly non-visual and often very physical (heat, shaking, tears, release). At higher doses the sense of a separate self can dissolve.
- It is not safe for everyone. Combining it with MAOIs (including ayahuasca and Syrian rue) can be dangerous, and some medications and health conditions rule it out. Everyone is screened before ceremony.
- In Canada, 5-MeO-DMT is not listed in the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act, so personal possession is not a criminal offence; sale for human use is not authorized under the Food and Drugs Act.
- Getting here: Victoria is about 35 minutes from downtown Vancouver by floatplane, a ferry ride from Tsawwassen, reachable from Seattle on the Victoria Clipper, and has direct flights from many Canadian cities.
