# EndzoneAPI > The football data API. 20 football data tools for AI agents. REST API + MCP server. Full reference with response shapes: https://endzoneapi.com/llms-full.txt MCP server setup: https://endzoneapi.com/llms-install.md MCP server for AI agents (clients, prompts, every tool): https://endzoneapi.com/mcp Datasets with live coverage by season: https://endzoneapi.com/docs/atlas Tool catalogue with JSON Schema: https://mcp.endzoneapi.com/v1/tools OpenAPI 3.1 spec: https://mcp.endzoneapi.com/openapi.json ## Quick Start - API base URL: https://mcp.endzoneapi.com - Auth: `Authorization: Bearer YOUR_API_KEY` or `x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY` - MCP server: `https://mcp.endzoneapi.com/mcp?key=YOUR_API_KEY` - Python client: `pip install endzoneapi` (https://pypi.org/project/endzoneapi/). Reads ENDZONEAPI_API_KEY. - 500 free credits every month, no credit card required - REST API responses include `X-Credits-Used` and `X-Credits-Remaining` headers - Seasons: 4-digit season year, the year the regular season starts (2025 for the 2025-26 season). Team codes like KC, BUF, PHI, SF. Game ids like 2025_01_KC_BUF (season_week_away_home). ## Data timing and rights - Odds and props are pre-game only. captured_at is when a line was captured (the page says exactly what it means for each kind of row); where props are held, rows also carry scheduled_start and minutes_before_scheduled_start (negative when captured after the scheduled start). - Records are overwritten when sources correct them; no revision history is kept. - You may store the data, train models, backtest, and build commercial products that show your users what you derive. You may not redistribute the data, or odds as a raw feed, as a dataset or API of its own. After an account closes, stored data is for internal use only. - EndzoneAPI is independent, not an official league partner, and grants no league rights. - Full answers: https://endzoneapi.com/docs/timing-and-rights ## Which Tool Should I Use? ### Static reference - EPA's blunt, stable cousin. - [Win probability](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/win-probability): The chance a team wins from the state the game is in right now. - [CPOE](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/cpoe): How often a passer completes throws compared with what the throw itself justified. - [Air yards](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/air-yards): How far downfield the ball travelled before it was caught or fell: opportunity, measured before the catch. - [Snap share](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/snap-share): The share of his team's offensive or defensive snaps a player was on the field for. The first thing to check before anything else. - [Yards after catch](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/yards-after-catch): Yards a receiver gains once the ball is in his hands, as opposed to the yards the throw travelled. - [Time to throw](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/time-to-throw): Seconds from the snap until the ball leaves the quarterback's hand, measured by tracking rather than charted by hand. - [Closing line](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/closing-line): The last price a market offered before kickoff, and the most accurate public forecast of a game that exists. - [Point differential](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/point-differential): Points scored minus points allowed. A better guide to a team's next game than its record is. - [Passer rating](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/passer-rating): The league's own quarterback formula, built from four rate stats and capped at 158.3. - [Win probability added](https://endzoneapi.com/glossary/win-probability-added): How much a single play moved a team's chance of winning that specific game: the change in win probability, play by play. ### By what you are building - [Analysts and researchers](https://endzoneapi.com/for/analysts): 1.2 million plays with expected points and win probability, plus Next Gen Stats tracking in the same database. - [Bettors and modellers](https://endzoneapi.com/for/bettors): Every game carries a closing spread, and the play-by-play underneath is already priced in EPA and win probability. - [Developers](https://endzoneapi.com/for/developers): REST for code, MCP for Claude and Cursor: 20 tools, one key, no scraping. - [Fantasy players](https://endzoneapi.com/for/fantasy): Snap shares, air yards, depth charts and injury status: the leading indicators, not last week's box score. ### Code guides Python, JavaScript and cURL for common questions, each run against the live API (code verified 2026-10-21).
