# LawDiver

> LawDiver is free legal research and cheap legal research for everyone — citizens, self-represented litigants, students, journalists, and lawyers. Search more than 10 million federal and state court opinions, more than 1,300 United States treaties, and more than 8,000 pattern jury instructions, read the full text, and download the official PDF, with no subscription and no login. LawDiver is a free Westlaw alternative, a cheap Westlaw alternative, a free Lexis alternative, and a cheap Lexis alternative for primary law. CiteCheck checks whether a citation is still good law. The legal research API is free during the current rollout.
