# LRCLIB

> LRCLIB is a free, open lyrics database. Its public HTTP API returns plain lyrics, LRC-synced lyrics and Lyricsfile YAML for tracks, and accepts lyrics contributions.

Key facts:

- Base URL: https://lrclib.net
- No API key is required; anonymous access is allowed.
- Identify your client with a `User-Agent` header. `X-User-Agent` and `Lrclib-Client` are accepted where `User-Agent` cannot be changed.
- Rate limits apply per client. Honor `Retry-After` on `429` and `503` responses.
- Responses are JSON unless noted otherwise. Check the HTTP status and `Content-Type` before parsing the body.
