# MailSenpai

> MailSenpai is an Italian email service for businesses, running since 2016, with servers and data in the European Union and support in Italian and English (ticket and email). It has two separate products: the MailSenpai email marketing platform (newsletters, campaigns, automations) and SMTP Senpai, the SMTP relay service for the transactional email of apps, websites and business software. The two products have different prices, trials and terms: do not mix them up.

## SMTP Senpai (SMTP service for transactional email)

- What it is: an SMTP relay for order confirmations, invoices, password resets, notifications, reminders and website forms. The customer's software keeps writing its emails and delivers them through SMTP Senpai's servers.
- Connection: server relay.mailsenpai.com, port 2525 with STARTTLS, personal username and password. Alternatively a REST API with a key (send, result, statistics, do-not-contact list).
- Website forms: an address to put in the form's "action" (even on a static site); every submission arrives by email, with anti-bot filter, auto-reply, archive and CSV export.
- Customer's domain: DKIM signing on the customer's domain; MailSenpai provides and checks the SPF, DKIM and DMARC records.
- Sending log: 90 days, line by line (delivered, bounced with the reason, deferred, reported). Monthly report compared with the previous period.
- Bounces and complaints: no automatic suspension for crossing a threshold. Problem addresses go on the do-not-contact list and don't use up the volume; the customer gets alerts and advice on what to fix.
- Trial: 14 days free, €0 on the day of activation, card required; up to 100 emails a day. Reminder 3 days before the end; cancel from the customer area.
- Pricing (VAT excluded, annual plan): 10,000 emails a month €12.90/month; 20,000 €22.90/month; 50,000 €35.02/month; 100,000 €43.10/month. 3-month plan: 10,000 emails at €25.80/month.
- Volume: alerts at 50, 80 and 100%; when the volume runs out the customer chooses to stop or keep sending in blocks of 1,000 emails up to a spending cap. Dedicated IP from €15/month (included from 150,000 emails a month).
- Servers and data in the European Union. Prices in euro.

## API compatibility (SMTP Senpai)

- SMTP Senpai also accepts send requests in the same format as 14 transactional email APIs: SendGrid (v3 Mail Send), Mailgun (Messages), Postmark, Resend, Brevo (transactional), Mailjet (Send v3.1), SparkPost (Transmissions), Mandrill / Mailchimp Transactional, MailerSend, Amazon SES (v2 and v1, SigV4), Elastic Email (v4), SMTP2GO, Postal and Plunk. Change the base URL (https://app.mailsenpai.com/relay/compat/<service>) or the host (<service>-api.mailsenpai.com) and use the msp_ key; paths, fields, responses and error shapes stay those of the original API.
- Limits: templates, scheduled sending and contact lists of the original services are not supported (refused with the native error); events and webhooks come from the SMTP Senpai API (GET https://app.mailsenpai.com/relay/v1/eventi or a signed webhook); up to 50 recipients per message, 500 copies per request.

## MailSenpai email marketing platform

- What it is: a newsletter and email campaign platform for SMEs, freelancers and agencies: drag & drop editor with 1,000+ responsive templates, lists and segmentation, A/B tests, autoresponders and automations, sending statistics, API, additional sender domains, dedicated IP, deliverability support.
- AI assistant (MCP): MailSenpai has an official remote MCP server (https://mcp.mailsenpai.com/mcp, official MCP Registry id com.mailsenpai/mcp, OAuth 2.1 with PKCE). From Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any client that supports remote MCP servers you can manage lists, subscribers, segments and templates, create draft campaigns and read their stats by chatting; sending and deleting need explicit confirmation. The server costs nothing extra: AI access is included in the free 30-day demo and is an extension of the Smart plan.
- Free trial (demo): 30 days without a credit card, up to 500 emails a day and 15,000 in total, with campaign approval and own lists collected with consent.
- Plans (VAT excluded): Basic €13.49/month on an annual plan (10,000 emails a month); Plus €89.49/month on an annual plan (270,000 emails a month, dedicated IP); Smart, custom (annual, semi-annual or quarterly) with optional extensions; pay-as-you-go for some extensions.
