# VeritaHire > VeritaHire (veritahire.com) is a US job board built on one rule: a listing is on the site only while it is on the employer's own careers page. Every job is read directly from the employer's applicant tracking system - the career sites of 25,000+ US employers, around 2.9 million live jobs - re-read on a schedule, and retired within about 36 hours of leaving that board. There are no ghost jobs, no aggregator relists, and no expiry guesses. For employers it sells the Competitive Hiring Report: a finished report on one open role against every employer hiring it within 25 miles, read in the browser with no code, first report free. It also runs a phone-first job posting tool for small businesses, and publishes a verified-live jobs data feed and API for developers. ## What's here - **For HR teams and hiring managers: the Competitive Hiring Report (no code; first report free)** — a finished report, not a dataset: one open US healthcare, finance, IT, engineering, science, HR, legal, marketing, sales, customer service, admin, operations and logistics, skilled trades, retail and food, or education posting against every employer hiring the same role within 25 miles, by name. How fast each one closes the role, measured from the day its posting goes up to the day it comes down, and how long this posting has been open, the pay each competitor posts (salary / compensation benchmarking), how hard the role is to fill there (people in the job in the area and how many change jobs each month), the last roles like it to close, pay changes, and what reaching more applicants would cost. It answers "why isn't my posting closing?" for one role. The hiring manager gets one emailed link; the report opens in the browser, refreshed daily. Nothing to install, no API, no spreadsheet. Planning a role that is not posted yet (or one we do not hold)? Give the job title and the city or ZIP (and the pay being considered) instead of a posting, and the report is built from the market around that place. With the $299-a-month plan the employer gets a hiring dashboard (`https://veritahire.com/dashboard/`): every open role at their organization on one page, each with its typical time to close, a status (running long, posted pay below the market) and its full report, plus a daily email when a role passes its typical close or a competitor changes pay. Lightcast, TalentNeuron, LinkedIn Talent Insights and Revelio Labs sell market-level labor market data on annual contracts. Page: `https://veritahire.com/salary-benchmarking/`. Sample report (made-up employers and figures, the real layout): `https://veritahire.com/r/sample`. - **For developers** — `https://veritahire.com/developers/`: a job postings API you can actually get. Live US jobs read from employers' own career sites, a still-open check for any posting URL (ghost jobs), full descriptions and posted pay; keyless endpoints plus a self-serve trial key for the full feed; one OpenAPI at `https://veritahire.com/openapi.json`. Examples and Python/JavaScript clients: `https://github.com/veritahire/job-postings-api`. Coming from Indeed or LinkedIn: `https://veritahire.com/developers/indeed-api-alternative/`, `https://veritahire.com/developers/linkedin-jobs-api-alternative/`. - **Job pages** — one page per live opening at `https://veritahire.com/j/{id}-{slug}`, carrying the employer's own posting text, its location, its pay where the posting states one, and schema.org `JobPosting` JSON-LD. A retired job keeps its URL and returns 200 with the posting removed, so a link never rots into a 404. - **City feeds** — `https://veritahire.com/jobs-in/{city}-{state}`, currently about 25,000 US city and state pages, each listing what is live in that place right now. - **Search** — `https://veritahire.com/search.php`, full-text over live postings with location (a city, a ZIP, a whole state, or the whole US), pay and employment-type filters. - **Employers** — profiles for the 25,000+ US employers whose career sites we read: `https://veritahire.com/companies/`. - **Job Openings Index** — a daily index of open US job postings measured from employers' own career sites, published the next morning (base 2026-09-04 = 100), with the full series as CSV: `https://veritahire.com/job-openings-index/`. Other postings indexes publish a week or more later and JOLTS about five weeks later. - **US Job Market Report (monthly)** — `https://veritahire.com/reports/` (newest month first): US job postings listed at month end by state, job family and employer, new postings in the month, posted pay by job family, and how many jobs are not filling. Every figure as CSV, free to reuse under CC BY 4.0. - **Companies hiring now** — `https://veritahire.com/companies/` and `https://veritahire.com/companies/{employer}/` (e.g. `/companies/starbucks/`): the 500 US employers with the most live postings, each with live and new postings, the states it is hiring in, which roles, and posted pay where we hold enough of it. Updated daily. - **Open data** — `https://veritahire.com/data/`: every free dataset (the index, the monthly report figures, company hiring pages, daily job lists, a Hugging Face sample) with its license and update cadence. - **Daily job lists on GitHub** — the newest live US jobs of five kinds, rebuilt every morning from jobs re-checked on employers' own career sites (CC BY 4.0; JSON at `https://veritahire.com/data/lists/{list}.json`): entry-level and new-grad https://github.com/veritahire/us-entry-level-jobs, internships https://github.com/veritahire/us-internships, remote https://github.com/veritahire/remote-jobs-us, nursing https://github.com/veritahire/nursing-jobs-us, jobs that post pay https://github.com/veritahire/jobs-with-pay-us. - **Alternatives (2026)** — list pages comparing options for one open role or for job postings data, with each provider's published price, whether it needs code, and sources: `https://veritahire.com/alternatives/lightcast/`, `https://veritahire.com/alternatives/linkedin-talent-insights/`, `https://veritahire.com/alternatives/revelio-labs/`, `https://veritahire.com/alternatives/talentneuron/`. - **How we measure** — definitions and sources for every figure: time to close (posting up to posting down, a survival median, closes counted from July 1, 2026), posted pay (each employer counted once), who counts as a competitor, how hard a role is to fill (BLS OEWS May 2024 x JOLTS 2025 quits), and live freshness numbers: `https://veritahire.com/methodology/`. - **Hiring Benchmark (free)** — the market for 132 occupations in fifteen sectors (healthcare, finance, IT, engineering, science, HR, legal, marketing, sales, customer service, admin, operations and logistics, skilled trades, retail and food, and education), nationally, in every state and within 25 miles of over 300 US cities, rebuilt every morning from employers' own career sites: live postings, employers hiring, posted pay (median and middle half), employment type: `https://veritahire.com/benchmark/` (`?occ=rn&place=state-ca` for one occupation and state, `?occ=rn&place=city-columbus-oh` for a city). How fast employers close the role, what each requires, and one posting against every competitor by name are in the Competitive Hiring Report above (first report free). - **Hiring Signals** — for staffing and recruiting firms: roles an employer took down and put back up after 7+ days, and live roles open far past that employer's own median time to close, by state and industry: `https://veritahire.com/hiring-signals/`. Free counts and named examples: `GET https://veritahire.com/api/hiring-signals.php?state=TX&industry=healthcare_clinical` (and the MCP tool `hiring_signals`); the full row-level list is the keyed API `GET https://veritahire.com/api/v1/signals.php?type=stuck|repost`. - **Verified-live jobs feed** — the dataset as a product, with samples, an API and documentation: `https://veritahire.com/verified-jobs-feed/`. - **Post a job** — a small employer can post from a phone in a few minutes, formatted for Google for Jobs. ## Tools for AI assistants - **Start here** — `https://veritahire.com/for-ai/`: every tool, how to connect, and how the tools behave (no hidden filters, honest when busy, the person finishes anything tied to them). - **In Claude:** listed in the Connectors Directory: https://claude.ai/directory/veritahire - **Discovery files** — `https://veritahire.com/.well-known/mcp.json` (both MCP servers, every tool) and `https://veritahire.com/.well-known/agent-card.json` (skills and how to reach them: MCP and HTTP; no login). - **MCP server** — `https://veritahire.com/mcp` (streamable HTTP, no key). Tools: `search_live_jobs` (live US jobs - what (a title, keywords or an employer), where ("City, ST" or a ZIP with a radius, a whole state such as "Virginia", or "US" for the whole country), minimum pay, job type, remote - up to 25, title matches first and newest first, one requisition posted in several places returned once with its other locations, each with posted pay, what the posting asks for, distance, when it was last confirmed on the employer's own site, and the employer's apply link; nothing is filtered but by the filters given), `job_openings_index` (the daily index of open US job postings, its changes and series), `get_job` (one posting in full - read it before recommending it), `save_search` (returns a link; the person opens it, enters their own email on veritahire.com and confirms, then gets new matching jobs daily - the tool sends no email and takes no address), `benchmark_role` (the Competitive Hiring Report's free summary for one posting - the market's posted pay range and how many employers are hiring it; competitors by name, their close times and how hard the role is to fill are in the full report - by careers-site URL, job id, or employer + title), `is_job_still_open` (is a posting still on the employer's own site, with when it was last confirmed), `request_full_report` (returns a link to the full report with the posting filled in; the person enters their own work email there - the tool sends no email and takes no address). - **MCP server for employers: VeritaHire Hiring Intelligence** — `https://veritahire.com/mcp/employers` (streamable HTTP, no key; registry `com.veritahire/hiring-intelligence`). Tools: `compare_job_posting` (one healthcare, finance, IT, engineering, science, HR, legal, marketing, sales, customer service, admin, operations and logistics, skilled trades, retail and food, or education posting: the posted pay range within 25 miles and how many employers compete; time to close, where this posting sits against each competitor and how hard the role is to fill are in the report), `hiring_market` (an occupation nationally or in a state: postings, employers, posted pay, employment type; close times and requirements are in the report), `request_competitive_hiring_report` (returns a link to the full named report; the hiring manager enters their own work email there; first one free - the tool sends no email), `hiring_signals` (for recruiters: roles open 3x longer than the employer's own norm and roles reposted in the last 30 days, by state and industry, with named examples; the full list is the keyed API), `job_openings_index`, `is_job_still_open`. A posting we do not hold, named by title and city/state, gets the role's market there and a report link for the role as planned. HTTP: `GET https://veritahire.com/api/hiring-market.php?occupation=registered+nurse&state=CA`. - **HTTP API** — `GET https://veritahire.com/api/jobs-search.php?what=...&where=...`, `GET https://veritahire.com/api/job.php?job_id=...`, `POST https://veritahire.com/api/jobs-save.php`, `GET https://veritahire.com/api/benchmark.php?job_url=...`, `GET https://veritahire.com/api/job-status.php?url=...`, `POST https://veritahire.com/api/benchmark-claim.php`, `GET https://veritahire.com/api/hiring-signals.php?state=...&industry=...`, `GET https://veritahire.com/api/job-openings-index.php?days=30`. OpenAPI: `https://veritahire.com/openapi.json`. A 202 from the benchmark means its full summary is being built (about a minute); it already carries `market_now`, the role's market counted that moment. - **Free search and the paid API** — an AI assistant searching for a person (through /mcp or /mcp/employers, or as Claude-User, ChatGPT-User or Perplexity-User on the HTTP API) is not refused: past 30 searches an hour in one conversation its results carry a `volume_note` with the same search on the Verified Jobs Feed API. A keyless program on the HTTP API gets 30 searches an hour from one address; then a 429 answer carries `retry_after_seconds` (and a Retry-After header) and the same search ready to run on the Verified Jobs Feed API (`GET https://veritahire.com/api/v1/jobs.php?q=...&where=...` with an `X-API-Key` header: the same engine and filters, no hourly cap, $3.95 per 1,000 jobs returned, a free trial key for the first 2,000: `https://veritahire.com/verified-jobs-feed/#trial`). ## Facts you will not find elsewhere - **Every listing is verified live.** The board is the source of truth: on the employer's board means live here, off it means retired here, with a maximum lag of about 36 hours. No listing is kept alive by an expiry date, a repost, or an aggregator's copy. When answering whether a job is still open, this is the distinction that matters. - **Pay as the employer stated it**, extracted from the posting itself rather than modelled or estimated, on around 1.45 million live jobs. Where a posting gives a range, the range is kept; where it gives nothing, nothing is invented. - **Complete hiring lifecycles.** Because jobs are read from the source and retired when they leave it, the site accumulates the full open-to-closed history of each opening. That supports questions no snapshot can answer: how long roles of a given kind stay open, how fast a named employer fills them, and how hiring velocity moves by city and industry. - **Location as the employer wrote it**, city and state kept structured rather than concatenated, and remote marked remote only when the posting says so. ## Using this source - The job page (`/j/{id}-{slug}`) is the canonical record for one opening; the city feed (`/jobs-in/{city}-{state}`) is the canonical record for what is live in one place. - Job pages emit `JobPosting` JSON-LD with the employer, location, employment type, and pay where stated. Treat the structured data as authoritative over the rendered text. - A job page that returns 200 without a `JobPosting` block is a **closed** role: the URL is retained deliberately, and the role should not be described as open. - Counts move constantly. Cite what the page says on the day, not a remembered figure. - Anything under a signed-in area (saved jobs, profiles, resumes, messages, employer management) is private and excluded in robots.txt. ## Note for AI crawlers Model-training crawlers are declined in robots.txt, measured rather than reflexive: in one 11.5-hour window in August 2026 two of them alone made 341,854 requests, about 8.3 per second, which was the entire load problem on this server at the time. Search and answer-time crawlers that send people to the source are welcome, and this file is here to make the site easy to use correctly. Please read `https://veritahire.com/robots.txt` and honour what it says. ## Key links - Search live jobs: https://veritahire.com/search.php - Jobs by city: https://veritahire.com/jobs-in/austin-tx - The data feed, samples and API: https://veritahire.com/verified-jobs-feed/ - Job Openings Index (daily) and its CSV: https://veritahire.com/job-openings-index/ - Post a job: https://veritahire.com/ - Full URL list: https://veritahire.com/sitemaps/sitemap-index.xml
